Antique Swastika Brooch made with Seed Pearls Set in Gilt Metal by Plainville Stock Company USA c1890

Here on offer is a fine antique Swastika brooch that has been made from small seed pearls set in a gilt metal Swastika frame.

On the reverse it has its original hinged fixing-pin and “C” clasp. The “C” clasp is actually stamped with the maker’s mark, PS Co

This is the mark of the Plainville Stock Company of Plainville, Massachusetts, USA.

I believe this brooch was made back in the Victorian period, circa 1890, when the Swastika symbol was actually seen as a sign of good luck.

This brooch would obviously also now display well in a WW2 German collection.

I am aware that this type antique “Swastika” jewellery was keenly collected and worn by German women and supporters of the Nazi party back in the 1930’s and during WW2.
The brooch is in excellent condition and displays beautifully and would make a great and valuable addition to any German collection.

The brooch measures 0.6” (1.5cm) square and weighs 2.4g.
