Original ELEY LONDON Percussion Cap Tin with Contents (35 Caps) c1880

Here on offer is an original tin of ribbed copper percussion caps made by ELEY, London, circa 1880.

The circular lacquered metal tin has the name ELEY LONDON pressed into the top lid. It still retains a very small part of the original label around the edge of the lid.
You can just make out the wording:

Bros. Ltd LONDON PERCUSSION CAPS

It still contains 35 ribbed copper caps that have a 4.4mm diameter.

There is some slight corrosion and loss of the lacquer finish but it is in excellent condition for its age.

The tin measures 1.5” (3.8cm) diameter by 0.6” (1.5cm) high and weighs 17g with the caps.
