Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service - Cromwell Style F335 Fire Helmet named to THORN (394) and dated 1983

Here on offer is a Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Cromwell Style F335 Fire Helmet, named to THORN and dated 1983.

It was made by Helmets Ltd, England and consists of a green plastic inner shell with a compressed cork outer shell that is covered with yellow paint.

On the front is a decal of the brigade badge for the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

It is a medium sized helmet (58cm) and retains the internal cross webbing and maker stamped leather head-band and chin-strap.

It is in great condition with some signs of cracking to the external yellow paint finish and tarnishing to the metal fittings.

It also comes with a Hazchem Scale Guidance card that was found tucked underneath the cross webbing.

This example clearly was in operational use and is named to Fireman THORN 394.

The helmet weighs a heavy 900g.
