Third Reich Gilt Aluminium “Lion Face” Kriegsmarine Dagger Hangers

Here on offer a beautiful pair of Third Reich gilt aluminium “Lion Face” Kriegsmarine dagger hangers that retain nearly all their bright gilt finish.

They are in near mint condition, there is just the slightest loss of the bright gilt finish on the clips on the long strap, that means I won't list them as mint.

My understanding is that after 1938 the standard Kriegsmarine hangers were normally made of gilded aluminium.

The lion’s faces are the later type and display very finely detailed images.

The short hanger has the small gilt chain and hook still fitted.

The black moiré fronts are in mint condition, no edge fraying, or additional holes.

The black velvet backings on both straps are also in mint condition.

The long strap measures 12” (30.5cm) clip to clip and the short strap measures 9.5” (24cm) clip to clip.

They weigh 110g.
