WW2 German Army Officers Dagger by Alcoso with Ivory Coloured Grip and Near Mint Blade

Here on offer is a genuine later period WW2 German Army Officers Dagger by Alcoso.

It is in excellent but not mint condition and shows genuine wear through service use.

The excellent ivory-coloured grip is the celluloid over wood type, with no cracks or splits.

The nickel-plated pommel shows some loss of plating, but the oak leaf ferrule is in excellent condition.

The nickel-silver crossguard shows loss of plating and some slight light staining. The eagle shows nice crisp detailing.

The blade in is in near mint condition, retaining a lot of the original cross graining and the edges are smooth with no nicks

There are only a couple of very tiny greying marks and it still has its needle-sharp tip.

On the reverse it has the Alcoso “Scales” trademark and the name ALCOSO.

The original leather blade buffer pad is still in place under the crossguard.

The scabbard shows signs of use, with loss of nickel-plating to the side edges and has a slightly loss and greying to the finish to the front and back stippled sections.

On the lower section it has a classic “train door” type light crease indentation on both sides.

It has its original two scabbard throat retention screws on the side edges of the scabbard and it still has its two hanger rings.

The blade measures 10.25” (26cm) and the dagger overall is 14.75” (37.4cm) long.

Inserted in the scabbard it measures 15.5” (39.4cm) long.

It weighs 305g.

A really nice example of an Alcoso made Army dagger, with a stunning blade.
