Vintage German Army Bundeswehr Fighting/Combat Knife circa 1970

Here on offer is an uncommon version of a vintage German Army Bundeswehr fighting or combat knife. It is of a style I haven’t seen before?

The knife has a 5.5” (14cm) stainless steel single edged blade that is stamped:

SOLINGEN
GERMANY

The moulded chequered grip is made of a strong green plastic and riveted to the blade tang by two metal rivets. There is a diamond shaped cut-out on the front of the grip, very similar to those seen on WW2 Hitler Youth knives, that could have an emblem fitted.

The metal sheath retains its original green paint and it has a stiff leather type belt loop and restraining strap with fastening stud.

The knife is in excellent condition, with a mint blade and just some slight scuffs to metal sheath paint.

The knife measures 10” (25.4cm) long and weighs 230g.
