Vintage Czech Army VZ 58 Bayonet with Leather Scabbard c1986

Here on offer is a vintage service issued Czech Army VZ 58 bayonet with leather scabbard, that fits the Czech VZ 58 assault rifle, circa 1986.

It comes with a blued steel blade and fittings that show signs wear/rubbing to the finish, through service use.

The grip is made up of two composite wood chip slabs, secured by recessed rivets, that attached it to a short metal tang. There is a slight hairline to the surface of one of the slabs that doesn’t go all the way through do the grip is still strong.

The tang still has a working release catch and a machined bayonet slot.

The 17cm long blued steel blade has a blood groove to the centre of each side and the edge shows signs of very slight sharpening.

On one side it is stamped with HB and the arsenal numbered E 3032 and on the other the number 4.

The thick leather scabbard shows minor wear marks through use and retains the retaining strap and stud and belt hanger.

On the back it has faint ink lettering, but all I can make out id K6 86, where I believe 86 refers to the year of manufacture, 1986.

The blade measures 6.7” (17cm) and the overall length of the bayonet is 11” (28cm).

It weighs 270g.
