Gilt Metal and Enamel - WW1 Royal Flying Corps (RFC) Miniature Regimental Cap Badge on Original Card

Here on offer is a gilt metal and enamel, WW1 Royal Flying Corps (RFC) Miniature Regimental Cap Badge that still comes with its original display card.

It has been constructed from a gilt metal, probably gold-plated brass that now has a slightly dark patina to the finish.

The letters RFC are finished in Red White and Blue enamels, as is the Crown. There is no damage or loss of enamel to the brooch, but the white enamel on the letter “R”, has a grey finish to the colour, where I don’t think, it has changed to a full “white” during its manufacture.

On the reverse it still has its original brooch pin and ‘C’ clip.

What is really unusual about this brooch is it still comes with its original display card, with the printed words:

Miniature Regimental Cap Badge.


The Royal Flying Corps.


It measures 1” (2.5cm) wide by 1.25” (3.2cm) high and weighs 6.5g.
