Rare Cased 1996 Limited Special Edition Boker Collector's Knife- Model 650 DAM- with Turkish Damascus Blade by M. Sachse - No.38 of 50

Here on offer is a very rare and stunning limited special edition (38 of 50) Boker Damascus Collector's knife with Turkish Damascus Blade.

It comes cased in a what I believe is a dark burr walnut hinged case.

Inside the case is a small certificate of authenticity from Boker along with the original clear plastic bags it came with, one marked with the model reference 650 DAM and 38 of 50.

There is also another A4 size printed certificate, in German, that translates as follows:

Knife model 650 DAM

TURKISH DAMASK

Limited special edition

The manufacture of Turkish damask can be traced back to late Roman times. In central Europe in the first century AD, spatha and sax blades were forged from composite sheets of damask that were twisted or twisted in different directions. At the beginning of the 19th century, twisted damask in Solingen became known as Turkish damask. Only a few masters have ever mastered this highest school of Damascus forging: to weld the twisted steels together flawlessly and thus to create a unique Damascus picture. Due to its complicated manufacturing process and the associated high price, it is only rarely made.

This Damascus hunting knife, based on a design by Klaus Papke, was made entirely by hand by our Damascus blacksmith Manfred Sachse. The artfully designed blade consists of eight panels that have been twisted alternately to the right and left. Each track consists of 21 individual layers. They are clearly visible on the blade.

The handle made of fine ebony and the hand-polished fittings made of nickel silver harmonize perfectly with the grey-silver shimmering Damascus blade of this special collector's knife. The edition is limited to 50 copies worldwide.

As a collector's item, the knife carries the exclusive no.

No. 38 out of 50

Solingen, June 1st, 1996

It then has the ink signatures, probably facsimile’s, of Manfred Sachse and Klaus Papke.

Exclusively distributed by Heine. Böker Gmb & Co., Baumwerk, Solingen

The only markings on the knife are the raised text on the top spine of the blade, that reads as:
