Original 1937 Pattern British Blue Webbing ‘Trophy’ Belt with Brass Buckle and Sliders
Here on offer is an original 1937 pattern, WW2 period British blue webbing ‘Trophy’ belt that has twenty genuine metal badges attached.
Some of the badges show signs of wear and damage, a lug missing etc, but most are in original condition.
These belts were often referred to as 'hate belts' and became popular during the WW1 through to WW2.
This 1937 pattern waist belt is made from a thick blue coloured webbing with a brass buckle which fastens it. It can be adjusted using the brass plated sliders and retaining hooks at both ends.
The belt is fitted with a wide range of badges, all of which pre-date 1953, some WW1 period and include: Irish Rifles, Royal West Kent, Bedfordshire Regiment, East Surrey Regiment, The Lancashire Fusiliers, The Essex Regiment, Yorkshire Regiment, Royal Army Medical Coprs, The Royal Sussex Regiment, Queens Own Cameron Highlanders Regiment, Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) Regiment, amongst other badges.
It measures 31” (79cm) long (to the end of the webbing) by 2.25” (5.7cm) wide and weighs a heavy 445g.
This unique belt is in excellent condition with some signs of it being worn and fading to the blue canvas.
