Antique 19th Century Belgian Pinfire Pocket Revolver – The Guardian Model of 1878 - in Near Mint Condition

Here on offer is a fine example of a 19th century 8mm Belgian Pinfire revolver, known as the Guardian Model of 1878.

This is an obsolete calibre pistol and does not require any firearms certification.

It has a three and a quarter inch barrel with cartridge ejector to the side. The ejector rod is slightly wobbly in its retaining sleeve.

There is a double action mechanism and a trap door behind the six shot cylinder to load the Pinfire cartridges.

It has the folding trigger mechanism, which is a feature I love about this model.

The lacquered hard wood grips are in perfect condition and fir perfectly to the frame.

This delightful little pistol is in perfect working condition, the action is nice and tight and it dry fires very well.

The overall condition is excellent, a few tiny pit marks here and there on the frame, but these were probably from the casting.

Nice clear Liège proof marks on the cylinder and matching marks on the barrel cylinder and frame, proving it is a truly original piece.

It measures 7” (17.8cm) long and weighs 315g.

Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description.
