Fine Antique Silver Plated Elephant Vesta Case c1880
Here on offer is a charming antique silver plated elephant Vesta case, circa 1880.
The Vesta case is in the form of an elephant and is opened by lifting the trunk/head of the elephant.
The spring hinge works well and forms a tight fit to the main body when closed.
It has a strike plate embedded on the top of the spin of its back.
There is also a ring attached to the spine to allow the owner to fix the Vesta to a watch chain.
It is in excellent condition and retains nearly all of its original plating, there is just a slight loss around the hinge on the top of its head.
It measures 2.25” (5.7cm) by 1.5” (3.8cm) by 0.6” (1.5cm) and weighs 21g.
This is a fine and very charming example of an antique elephant Vesta case. A true collectors piece!
