Cased Limited Edition Replica 16th Century Swiss Dagger by KLÖTZLI of Burgdorf, Bern, Switzerland 1991
Here on offer is a cased limited edition replica 16th century Swiss dagger made by the famous Swiss knife maker, KLÖTZLI of Burgdorf, Bern, Switzerland in 1991.
This style was also used by the Nazi's as a pattern for their SA, NSKK, NPEA and SS daggers and makes an interesting addition to any German dagger collection.
KLÖTZLI still make knives today at their workshops and museum in Burgdorf.
This knife is a limited edition piece, being No.433 of 1400. The number is stamped on the one side of the blade near the crossguard along with the maker’s name, KLÖTZLI, SWISS MADE.
The upper and lower crossguards along with the pommel-locking nut are made of a plated brass and they just fit perfectly with the grip. There is now a very slight age patina to the brass finish on the crossguards that could be removed if so required.
The grip itself is made from one piece of hardwood that has a beautiful speckled grain pattern.
The large 9” blade is made from a high-grade stainless steel (4034) and is in perfect condition.
With a high level of toughness, blades made from this steel will withstand pressure and stress from tough applications. This feature is associated with the high chromium in its composition.
This knife is in perfect condition, has never been used and has remained in its original wooden case that also contains its original numbered and signed certificate.
The details of the certificate roughly translate as follows:
