Impressive Large ‘Pokerwork’ Nazi Party Eagle

Here on offer is an unusual large “Pokerwork” Nazi Party eagle.

The Pokerwork or Pyrography looks to have been professionally undertaken to produce this impressive image.

Pyrography or pyrogravure is the art of decorating wood or other materials with burn marks resulting from the controlled application of a heated object such as a poker. It is also known as pokerwork or wood burning

The artist has used a thick section of what I think is pine or a lightwood, to burn the image of the eagle onto using a small poker or soldering iron.

The top surface has then been varnished to protect and enhance the image.
The section of wood has also has a wooden frame.

I have no idea how old this piece is but given its in immaculate condition; I would say it must be post WW2?

Regardless of when it was made, it makes a very impressive display piece for any collector of German Militaria.

It measures 20” (51cm) by 16.1” (41cm) by 1” (2.5cm) and weighs a heavy 2.35Kg.
