Unusual Image of a WW2 RAAF Cap Badge Set in Clear Plastic

Here on offer is an unusual image of a WW2 Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) insignia as depicted on their cap badge, moulded in clear plastic or possibly perspex.

The moulded recessed shapes have been reverse painted with gold and yellow paint, providing an impressive view from the front, especially when held against a dark background.

I have never seen one of these before and am not sure of its purpose, but make’s a great RAAF display piece.

It measures about 1.9” (4.8cm) high by 1.75” (4.4cm) wide and weighs 5.2g.
