Reproduction WW2 German RAD Standard Flag Bearer’s Gorget Breastplate with Chain

Here on offer is a good example of a reproduction WW2 German National Labour Service, Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD) standard flag bearer’s Gorget breastplate with chain.

The breastplate seems to be made from a polished nickel-plated metal.

Attached to the front is a large RAD emblem which features an enamel swastika, a shovel with cast metal sheaves of wheat.

Above this emblem there are the words “Arbeit adelt” (Work ennobles), the slogan of the RAD, in black lettering.

The reverse features a backing cloth of finely woven black wool. There are two flat metal tabs, the larger one is stamped with D.R.G.M. and used to fix to the uniform, while the smaller tab is used to fix the neck chain in place.

It measures about 5.5” (14cm) high by 5” (12.7cm) wide and weighs 245g.

The chain measures 21.6” (55cm) long.

This is a fine quality reproduction Gorget that is ideal for display or re-enactment.
