WW2 British Home Guard Personalised Wooden Cigarette or Trinket Box with Group Photo on the Lid and Signatures Inside

Here on offer is an interesting WW2 period British Home Guard personalised large wooden cigarette or trinket box.

There is a wonderful clear black and white photo of the group, set under glass on the top of the lid.

From what I can make out of the uniforms they look to me like Home Guard?

Inside the lid there are the signatures of many if not all of the soldiers in the photo.

There is also a name written on the base, which is L.W. BELL, who I assume was the owner of the box.

The wooden case is in excellent condition and has been skilfully made from a lightwood and doesn’t smell of cigarettes! I think it was used as a keepsake box.

The box measures 8.75” (22.3cm) wide, 4” (10cm) deep and 2” (5cm) high.

It weighs 410g.
