Unusual WW2 VE Day Commemorative Oak Letter Opener
Here on offer is an unusual WW2 VE Day commemorative letter opener.
The letter opener is made from wood, which looks like oak to me, from WW2 British Battleships.
It has a great tapered shape to the opener and has a small metal plaque pinned to the top, which reads as:
MADE FROM
BATTLESHIPS OF BRITAIN
ADVANCE BRITANNIA LONG LIVE THE
CAUSE OF FREEDOM
WINSTON CHURCHILL BROADCAST VE DAY
In the centre is a large āVā for Victory
The letter opener is in excellent original condition and it can still be used today!
A great piece if WW2 memorabilia that links to VE Day back on the 8th May 1945.
The opener measures 9.9ā (25cm) long and weighs 24g.
