FANTASY WW2 SS Cigarette Case with fake SS emblem – Real Case is made from Alpacca Silver by Robert Kraft Depicting a Spider in its Web

Here on offer is a pure “FANTASY” WW2 SS Cigarette case with a fake SS emblem attached to the top cover of a real case.

Personally, I would sadly say the value of the case has been affected by someone tacking on a bogus SS emblem and engraving it with false markings and owner details.

The REAL cigarette case is actually an impressive art deco period Alpacca silver cigarette case depicting a spider’s web and jewelled spider on the top lid.

Alpacca (or Alpaca) Silver is sometimes known as nickel silver or German Silver and was developed in the late 1800s as a less expensive substitute for silver, and is made from copper, zinc, nickel and tin.

The spring release catch is stamped on one side with:

KRAFT ALPACCA

And the makers stamp RK that stands for Robert Kraft.

The case opens and closes well and the interior retains the two original elastic straps that would’ve held the cigarettes in place.

Stamped inside are some fake markings on both halves of the case, one being the Eagle WaA 195 Waffenamt acceptance mark and the other the RZM mark.

Someone has also engraved some details of the claimed “SS” owner:

9.44 Panzer Division
Huhenstaufen
Erchard Bach

The case is in great condition with some minor indentations, especially on the bottom section.

It does actually display very well and in its own way is a great example of a fake SS cigarette case and I hope people will learn from this that these cases are actually fakes and not waist serious money on them.

It measures 3.7” (9.3cm) by 3.2” (8cm) and weighs 83g.
