Original WW1 ‘FUMSUP’ & TOUCH WOOD Soldier’s Lucky Gold Plated Charm with Painted Face

Here on offer is an original WW1 ‘FUMSUP’ and TOUCH WOOD soldiers lucky Gold Plated charm, that amazingly still has its painted face!

These charms were given to WW1 soldiers, as a “Good Luck” token that could be carried with them into battle.

They come in all sorts of types and this one has a lovely Gold Plated body with moving arms (with Thumbs UP) and a woodenhead, so the soldier could ‘Touch Wood’ for luck before a battle.

A wire goes through the head allowing it to swivel and is folded into a loop at the top so it can be attached to a chain.

The hollow metal body is in good original condition.

The egg shaped woodenhead is still a solid piece of wood, with no cracks and amazingly it still has the painted eyes and nose, which is very rare to find.

The charm measures 1.2” (3cm) long and 0.4” (1cm) wide across the arms.

It weighs 1.7g.
