Rare Nazi Party Hallmarked 9ct Gold Swastika Pendant Charm by John Grinsell & Sons 1925

Here on offer is a rare early Nazi Party solid 9ct gold Swastika pendant charm, by the English gold and silversmiths, John Grinsell & Sons and dated to 1925.

The front has the cut out Swastika emblem in the centre and a circular border with ornate chisel work. It still retains its original suspension loop and is in perfect undamaged condition.

On the reverse it has a full set of English 9ct Gold Hallmarks, showing the assay office was Birmingham and the date letter “A” dates it to 1925.

There is also a maker’s mark being J G & S, which I believe relates to John Grinsell & Sons of Birmingham, England.

The Nazi Party officially started back in 1920 and this piece may well have been an item specially made in England a party member.
It could have possibly been made for a member of the British Fascist’s (BF), founded in 1923 as the British Fascisti by Rotha Lintorn-Orman, one of the very few women to ever lead an avowedly fascist movement. Initially they had only a limited political platform but supported Italian fascism from 1931 to their demise in 1936.

The pendant charm measures 0.7” (1.7cm) diameter and weighs 1.8g.
