Framed Edwardian Period Heart-Shaped Sweetheart Pincushion – “1909”
Here on offer is a great example of an Edwardian period Heart-shaped sweetheart pincushion that’s been fitted into a glass fronted wooden display case.
In the centre of the cushion, made from small white beads is the date “1909”, which clearly had some significance to the person this was made for, maybe to celebrate a wedding?
This example is in excellent condition and I have left the sealed display case unopened.
The pincushion looks to be made from a green felt material and it has been embellished with lots of coloured and clear pinned on glass beads.
On the lower edges it has sets of beaded tassels.
Inside the case the pincushion is surrounded by a fine white and red coloured lace. Small brass hearts have been fitted to each corner.
I can’t actually tell how old the lovely wooden display case is, but looks to be a later period piece.
This is just a beautiful example of one of these pincushions, in really excellent condition that will make a great addition to any antique collection.
The heart cushion measures approximately 4.5” (11.4cm) by 4” (10.2cm) and the case is 7.5” (19cm) by 7.5” (19cm) and 2.75” (7cm) deep.
It weighs 650g.
