WW2 Period Large Dagger Shaped Trench Art Letter Opener with Wavy Copper Blade

Here on offer is a beautifully made WW2 period “trench art” letter opener.

The heavy and solid metal letter opener has been made to the size of a real dagger.

The pommel and sloping crossguard are made from solid polished brass. The grip is made from aluminium with copper and brass segments that have been machined and polished to a beautiful smooth finish.

The wavy shaped blade is made from solid copper and is held firmly in place by a copper pin through the brass crossguard.

This is just one of the nicest examples of a letter opener that I have seen for a long time.

The blade measures 6.6” (17cm) long and the letter opener is 11.75” (30cm) in total length.

It weighs a heavy 375g.
