Limited Edition MOKI Knife of the Year “2001” with Wooden Presentation Box - 1 of 300

Here on offer is a rare opportunity to obtain a genuine Limited Edition MOKI, Knife of the Year “2001”, folding knife, 1 of 300 ever made.

This example is actually number 297 of the 300 ever produced.

Moki knives have been produced in Seki, Japan since 1907. Every detailed time consuming hand finish & fit is devoted to each knife, making an exceptional high standard of quality craftsmanship so called "Precision Factory Custom Knives".

Moki pay careful attention to the material of the handles and produces attractive knives one at a time. They use various well-selected natural materials for knife handle inlays, such as the shell from white and black mother of pearl abalone harvested by divers from the bottom of the South Pacific.

Beautiful woods are used, such as Ironwood, Red Sandalwood and Lignum Vitae known as the "tree of life" for some limited models.

I have owned this knife from new and it is in mint condition complete with its original presentation wooden box.

It has only been taken out of its box to take photos.

The handle has brushed stainless steel bolsters, the front being stamped with the production number of this knife, which is 297 out of 300.

The handle is also inset with what I think are Lignum Vitae wooden slabs on both sides. Inlayed at the top of these slabs, where they join the bolsters are beautiful sections of abalone shell.

The front of the handle has an oval gold metal MOKI maker’s logo set into the centre of the wood.

The stunning mirror finished stainless steel blade is probably VC-10 or possibly ATS-34.

Stamped on the ricasso on one side is the name MOKI. The blade has the full MOKI logo in gold etched into it.

This version also has a knurled thumb stud screwed to the blade for single hand operation.

Imprinted in gold on the lid of the presentation box is "MOKI 2001 Year Special Edition Knife" in Japanese Hiragana and Kanji.

These knives rarely come on the knife market, as they are kept stored away in collections as indeed my collection has been, but now it is time to offer them for another collector to enjoy!

A great chance to add a truly top quality limited edition MOKI knife to your collection. This knife can only increase in value.

The knife has an approximate blade length of 3.1” (8cm) and a fully opened length of 6.8” (17.3cm).

It weighs 104g.
