Limited Edition HATTORI Knife of the Year “2002” with Leather Sheath and Wooden Presentation Box - 1 of 100

Here on offer is a rare opportunity to obtain a genuine Limited Edition Hattori Knife of the Year “2002”, fixed blade knife, 1 of 100 ever made.

This example is actually number 97 of the 100 produced.

I have owned this knife from new and it is in mint condition, with its brown leather sheath and complete with its original presentation wooden box.

It has only been taken out of its box to take photos.

I believe the grip is made from two slabs of beautiful Chinese quince wood, held in place by brass pins. The small brass crossguard has the limited edition number 097 stamped into it on one side and SEKI CUT on the other side.

The stunning mirror finished blade has VG-10 JAPAN stamped on the ricasso on one side and the full Hattori 2002 etching.

The brown leather sheath fits snugly into the base of the wooden box.
Imprinted in gold on the lid of the presentation box is "Hattori 2002 Year Special Edition Knife" in Japanese Hiragana and Kanji.

These knives rarely come on the knife market, as they are kept stored away in collections as indeed my collection has been, but now it is time to offer them for another collector to enjoy!

Ichiro Hattori was involved with knife making at the age of 18 when he joined his father's knife company "Masahiro". In 1971, he has opened his own workshop and started producing high quality Hunting knives for export with buyers brands including Kershaw, Browning, Beretta, Tekna etc.

His fine works have been quickly recognised worldwide as real custom quality knives with the detailed hand works.
This reputation came from his nature to seek the finest workmanship without any compromises.
In 1993, he has entered into a domestic market with his own name and line, and instantly captured Japanese knife users as the finest hunting knives ever offered in Japan.

A great chance to add an early limited edition Hattori knife to your collection. This knife can only increase in value.

The knife has an approximate blade length of 3.1” (7.7cm) and a full length of 6.9” (17.5cm).

It weighs 59g.
