5 INERT Relic WW1 British Brass Fuse Heads from the SOMME Battlefields Mounted on an Oak Base
Here on offer is a great display of 5 INERT Relic WW1 British brass fuse heads, mounted on an oak base.
I was told these where recovered from the battlefields of the SOMME battlefields many years ago.
All 5 of the fuses look to be British from the markings that I can make out. They all show signs of being fired in anger and some are in better condition than others. Please see my photos.
They have all been securely fitted to the oak base and can’t be easily removed.
Each fuse measures about 2.4” (6cm) diameter and is approximately 2” (5.1cm) high from the base to the top of the cone, where the cone is still in place.
The wooden base is 12” (30.5cm) by 5.7” (14.4cm) by 1” (2.5cm) thick.
It weighs a very heavy 5.25 Kg, so postage will be high!
It makes a great WW1 desk display item of real items recovered from the battlefields of France.
Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description.
