Original WW2 DAF (Deutsche Arbeitsfront) German Workers Syndicate Members ID Book to Anton Kreissl – 1940 to 1945

Here on offer is an original DAF (Deutsche Arbeits Front) German labour front workers syndicate members book.

It is a small red-marbled coloured hardback book with a red linen spine and 16 pages.

On the front it has embossed in gold, the German DAF symbol, a Swastika inside a 'cog' wheel.

Above the symbol is and a small square paper label with what I think is the name "Anton Kreissl" which is hand written in Gothic German, so not easy to read?

On the back cover is another handwritten label with his name and also Bohnn, which I believe stands for the German City of Bonn. There is another word, which I can’t make out, possibly as town reference?

On the first page it shows Anton was born on the 4th January 1880 and was issued with this DAF book on 1st August 1938, so he was 58 when he joined.

It has what appear to be ‘die deutche arbeitsfront’ (German Labourfront) payment stamps, with Swastikas, in yellow, orange, green, mauve and blue on pages 7 to 9, that cover his membership for the years August 1940 through to September 1944.

Then there is a large blue printed ‘discharge’ stamp that covers the period 1st September 1944 to 31st December 1944.

The book is in excellent original condition and covers the full WW2 service period, of a man who was 65 when he finished his term!

The book measures 6” (15cm) by 4.2” (10.6cm).
