Small collection of BOAC Smoking Related Memorabilia from the 1970’s

Here on offer is a small collection of three items of BOAC smoking related memorabilia from the 1970’s.

The collection consists of a bakelite gas table lighter made in England by POPPELL, that is 3.5” (9cm) high.

It is in excellent condition although untested, it comes with any gas or flint to comply with shipping regulations.

Next is a blue anodised aluminium circular ashtray, with the BOAC Speedbird logo and the words:

ALL OVER THE WORLD BOAC TAKES GOOD CARE OF YOU


It is in excellent condition with just some minor dings and scratches to the finish.

The ashtray measures 5” (12.6cm) diameter at the base.

Finally there is a thin plastic MANIKIN cigar box, that used to hold 40 cigars and states it’s specially packed for BOAC in gold lettering.

There is also the name J R Freeman & Son Ltd on the top of the box, who are famous cigar makers.

It is a very thin box and I am surprised it has survived this long. It has some overall scratches to the finish and a small hairline crack at the back of the lid.

It measures 5.9” (15cm) by 3.5” (9cm) by 1.5” (3.8cm).

Combined they weigh 275g.
