Antique Vertical Boiler Model Steam Engine

Here on offer is a great example of an antique vertical boiler model Steam Engine.

I believe this example has been professionally “hand made” as I can’t find any makers mark or label. It looks very similar to antique German made examples by Ernst Plank of this type of vertical boiler steam engine.

The main cylindrical boiler is made from copper and the main wheel/shaft and single piston are both in good order and move freely.

The flat metal base plate has been fixed to a solid square piece of wood that has some writing on the bottom that seems to read:

BRAYL
RIX

It is missing its burner tray and wick.

I am selling this as a display item only!

I don’t know if the engine still works but the main flywheel and piston turn and the safety valve and filler cap undo.

It measures 8” (20cm) high including the base and the wooden base is 3.75” (9cm) square.

It weighs 655g.

The copper boiler has a wonderful age patina finish to it and the two wheels still retain their original red paint.

It makes an excellent desk display model.
