MINT Vintage Deer’s Foot Hunting Knife Complete with Original Leather Sheath
Here on offer is a MINT example of a vintage Deer’s Foot hunting knife complete with its original leather sheath.
I am sure these knives where made in Solingen, Germany, possibly by W CLAUBERG, who is famous for making these types of knives.
The grip is made from a large Deer’s foot/hoof that retains all its fur.
A ribbed polished nickel ferrule connects the hoof to the blade.
The beautiful single edged blade retains all of its original mirror finish, with just some very slight surface scratches.
There is no maker’s mark on the blade.
The mint condition brown leather sheath has a crosshatched metal tip; a belt loop and retaining strap and working press catch at the top.
On the front, embossed into the leather, is the image of a Stag deer in the woods and two acorn leaves.
The knife is in MINT unused condition and the grip fits the hand very well.
The blade measures 3.9” (9.8cm) long and the knife is 9.2” (23.2cm) in total length.
It weighs 90g.
Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description.
