Stunning Example of a Large Handmade Brass Napoleonic Field Cannon & Limber
Here on offer is a beautiful example of a very large hand made model of solid brass Napoleonic field cannon with its attachable limber carriage.
I am selling this fine example on behalf of a truly talented model maker, who crafted this example over 40 years ago.
It is based on a Napoleonic field cannon from the Battle of Waterloo period circa 1815.
It has been handmade entirely from solid brass and even the cannon frame has been hand filled to produce a wood grain finish.
The large spoked wheels all rotate and are held in place by removable axle pins.
The cannon itself comes with two buckets and a ramrod.
The adjustable barrel screw mechanism works to alter the firing elevation angle of the cannon.
The limber has two lidded ammunition containers that both hinge open as shown in my photos.
With the limber connected they measure a combined length of 28” (71cm).
The cannon measures 14” (36cm) long and is 8.6” (22cm) wide and has a barrel length of 9” (23cm).
The limber measures 15” (38cm) long and 8.6” (22cm) wide.
Each wheel is 6” (15.3cm) diameter.
The combined weight of the cannon and limber is a very heavy 9.7Kg.
Additional photos are available if required, upon request.
It can be collected from a location in Cornwall or shipping can be arranged at the most cost effective price.
It makes a really impressive centrepiece for any military display.
