Mint in Box Large Vintage Metal Medallion Designed for the French Ministry of Defence by FIA

Here on offer is an unusual mint in box example of a vintage large heavy metal medallion designed for the French Ministry of Defence, by the French medal manufacturer, FIA.

The medallion comes in its original blue card box and still has a clear support stand in its package and a manufactures card.

The card reads:

Cette medaille est gravee. estampee en metal noble, patinee, et fabriquee piece par piece de facon artisanle dans nos ateliers. le poincon de maitre FIA garantit saqualite et son authenticite

Which roughly translates to:

This medal is engraved. stamped in noble metal, patinated, and handcrafted piece by piece in our workshops. the FIA master's mark guarantees its quality and authenticity.

The medallion itself is 2.9” (7.3cm) diameter and 0.2” (0.5cm) thick at the rim.

Iy weighs a heavy 184g.

It appears to be made from brass or a heavy metal alloy that has been silver coated to give a slight brushed finish.

The font displays the French Ministry of Defence emblem in relief, with wording around the edge.

The reverse and rim have a totally plain finish.

The medallion is in mint condition and looks to have not been used or displayed.
