Large WW2 Brass, Copper and Aluminium Trench Art Pocket Lighter
Here on offer is a fine example of a large WW2 period brass, copper and aluminium trench art pocket petrol lighter.
This lighter has been expertly machined by a military workshop engineer, during WW2.
The lighter’s frame is made from a copper centre section with rounded cylindrical brass ends and an aluminium base and tip hinged lid.
The aluminium base is held in place by two retaining screws.
All the metal elements and finely machined together, such that you can’t feel the joins!
The lid hinges open to reveal the thumb wheel flint holder, that pulls out of its housing and is missing its flint, spring and screw. There is also the hole for the lighter wick, which is also absent and no fuel (petrol) is retained in the lighter, to meet shipping regulations.
The lighter is in excellent condition and will make an impressive and unique addition to any lighter collection.
It measures 2.1” (5.3cm) wide, 2.5” (6.3cm) high and 0.8” (2.1cm) thick.
It weighs a heavy 115g.
