Vintage Large Glass Ashtray and Stand for the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards
Here on offer is a Vintage Large Glass Ashtray and Stand for the now disbanded 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards.
The 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards was a cavalry regiment of the British Army formed in 1922 and served in WW2.
However following the reduction of forces at the end of the Cold War and proposals contained in the Options for Change paper, the regiment was amalgamated with the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards, to form the new Royal Dragoon Guards in 1992.
The large clear glass ashtray has a lovely serrated edge pattern and it fits snugly onto a black solid plastic base that has the raised image of the Royal Dragoon Guards emblem/badge in colour and the raised words, painted in gold below it:
4TH/7TH ROYAL DRAGOON GUARDS
On the base it has the makers label:
THERMOPLASTICS VLAARDINGEN (of Holland)
This is a great display piece, that will make a great addition to any Royal Dragoon Guards collection.
The glass ashtray measures 7” (17.8cm) diameter and weighs a heavy 935g.
