Victorian Boer War Period Lord Roberts Brass & Cast Iron Doorstop or Fire Place Ornament

Here on offer is a lovely original Victorian Boer War period, brass and cast iron doorstop.

Cast in solid brass is the image of Lord Roberts in military uniform astride his horse. The horse legs are then attached by two square headed nuts, to a stepped cast iron base that was originally painted gloss black. Some of the original paint remains and it could be easily repainted if required.

There is some nice detail to the image of Lord Roberts and his horse and the brass has a lovely mellow age patina.

Makes an impressive display piece of Boer War related memorabilia and still works as a great doorstop!

It measures 9.9” (25cm) high and 7.6” (19.5cm) wide at the base.
