WW2 German Navy Officers Kriegsmarine 2nd Model Dagger by WKC with Silver Bullion Knot

Here on offer is an original WW2 2nd Model German Kriegsmarine Dagger by WKC with its original silver bullion knot.

The excellent condition grip is ivory in colour and the celluloid over wood version, which still has its original twisted grip wire.

The lovely brass cross guard and eagle pommel, still retain some original gilt finish.

The blade has the Knight’s head maker’s mark for WKC lightly impressed on the ricasso with part of the face and “W” missing. It is just where the die wasn’t quite level when it was stamped onto the blade in manufacture.

Both sides of the blade are etched with the dolphin and fouled anchor design.

There is some slight greying/spotting to the blade, mainly on the ricasso but the etching is still crisp and the point is very sharp. It still retains its red felt scabbard buffer pad.

The lightning pattern scabbard is in good condition and does have a number of “train door” dents at the bottom and still retains some original gilt finish. It still retains its two scabbard screws.

The dagger is complete with its original silver bullion knot that is tied correctly around the cross guard and interestingly has been very neatly sown together around the base of the pommel. There is some slight fraying to the cord near the acorn.

A great genuine example of a ‘service worn’ German Navy dagger.

The blade measures 10” (25.3cm) and the dagger itself 15.1” (38.4cm) long.

It weighs 420g.
