Early Third Reich Gilt Brass Navy Hangers Complete with Blue Cloth Under-Belt
Here on offer is a nice early pair of hangers that came with the blue cloth under-uniform belt.
The hangers are early Third Reich period and all the fittings are brass with a lovely gilt finish. There is some loss of gilt to the highlights on the lion’s faces and the sprung clips where they attach to a dagger.
The short hanger has the small chain and hook fitted, but I don’t think it ever had any gilt finish, or if it did it has all gone.
The blue moiré fronts are in great condition, no fraying; or additional holes.
The black velvet backing on the long strap is perfect, but there is some slight edges wear on the short strap.
The blue under uniform belt has one leather fixed loop and one adjustable. The leather shows some surface wear and the buckle shows some light surface pitting.
The belt measures 45” (114cm) end to end.
