WW2 Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm Perspex “WINGS” Sweetheart Pendant Necklace
Here on offer is a rare hand made example of a WW2 Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm Perspex “WINGS” shaped sweetheart pendant necklace.
I was told from the family I bought it from, that it was made from the Perspex canopy of a damaged WW2 fighter plane and the cut-out crown and anchor from a Navy Officers brass button.
The beautifully made Perspex ribbed “WINGS” are set in the centre with a carefully cut-out Royal Navy (Kings Crown) emblem from a Navy Officers uniform button.
Two small rings are set at the tips of the wings and a thin gilt brass necklace chain has been thread through them, with an opening clasp at the top.
It is excellent original condition and the emblem shows the true age patina for an item from the WW2 period.
The Pendant is 1.5” (3.8cm) high, 1.8” (4.7cm) wide and 0.2” (5cm) thick.
The chain necklace is 17.5” (44.4cm) long end to end.
Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description.
