Personalised WW2 Blue Painted Perspex RAF Wings Emblem Brooch with Initial “K”

Here on offer is a unique example of a personalised WW2, blue painted perspex RAF Wings emblem brooch with an inlaid brass initial “K”.

My understanding this was made from the perspex recovered from the canopies of damaged WW2 RAF fighter and bomber aircraft, such as Spitfires, Lancaster’s etc.

The main section of the brooch is made from one piece of perspex and the wings have been painted blue on the back.

The centre section remains clear and has a perspex circle section attached that has had a finely made letter “K” inset on the back. I assume this was the initial of a loved one who the brooch was made for?

A long metal bar brooch pin has been pinned to the back of the wings and is in working order.
The brooch is in excellent original condition and is just a fine example of this type of WW2 perspex “trench art” and a unique piece!

It measures 0.75” (1.9cm) high and 3” (7.6cm) wing tip to wing tip.

It weighs 4g.
