English Hallmarked Silver Watch Fob with Gold Cartouche by Robert Pringle & Sons, London 1925

Here on offer is an ornate large English solid silver watch fob/pendant that is fully hallmarked and was assayed in Birmingham in 1925.

Even the fob suspension ring is hallmarked with the English Lion mark!

The FRONT of the shield shaped fob has a beautifully engraved scroll and pierced design with a gold shield cartouche in the centre that has NOT been engraved.

The REAR is plain and has a clear set of English silver hallmarks, the Lion Passant for English silver (925), an anchor for the assay office of Birmingham and the date letter “A” for the year 1925.

It also shows the makers mark, “R.P” set in an indented rectangle, which I believe stands for the maker:

Robert Pringle & Sons, Clerkenwell Road, London EC1.

This fob is in excellent condition, with only lightest of age scratches on the back.

It measures 1.9” (4.7cm) including the suspension ring by 1.2” (3.2cm) wide and weighs 8.5g.
