Rare Pair of Antique Czech Glass Intaglio Saltcellars with Cabochon Gilt Brass Filigree Rims

Here on offer is a rare pair of antique Czech glass intaglio saltcellars with ornate gilt brass filigree rims fitted with tiny cabochon stones.

The gilt brass filigree rims originally had four tiny coloured cabochon stones set into both of the edges. One rim still retains all of its eight coloured stones, one has two stones missing, one on each side, so six remain in all.

The rims are fitted to the glass saltcellars by two tabs that are bent over underneath the tips. They therefore can easily be removed for cleaning as required.

The glass saltcellars are both clear glass and have a cut checkered pattern to the edges.
In the base the intaglio design depicts a beautiful stag deer in a woodland setting.

Apart from the two missing stones, there is no damage to the glass or the rims.

Each saltcellar measures 3.5” (8.9cm) long by 2” (5.1cm) wide and 0.75” (2cm) high.

They each weigh 44g.
