Vintage British Gat Gun Air Pistol made by T. J. Harrington & Son

Here on offer is something that takes me back to my youth, a working example of a vintage British Gat Gun air pistol, made by T. J. Harrington & Son.

The Gat Gun was produced from the late 1930s to the mid 1990s and this example was made by T. J. Harrington & Co Ltd. of Magda Works, Walton on Thames, Surrey. There was a break in production during World War II, resuming shortly afterwards. Production finally ended with the death of Mr Harrington.

This example appears to be an early version as it is marked T.J. Harrington & Son not & Co Ltd.

It is in used condition, with some paint loss and light surface corrosion.

It was originally designed to shoot darts, .177 (4.5mm) pellets and corks and is still in working order with a strong spring action.

It appears to have its shroud missing and someone has replaced it with a black rubber sleeve that covers the exposed spring

A great collectors item that still works!

Un-cocked with the barrel extended it measures 9.8” (25cm) long and weighs 620g.
