Early WW2 German Army Officers Dagger Hangers

Here on offer is great set of early WW2 German Army Officers Dagger Hangers.

The fittings on this set are the heavy metal alloy type.

The oval buckles and slides have the fine oak leaf pattern but have lost most of their original silver finish, but they show a wonderful aged patina to their surface.

The two lower “push open” spring clips are in full working order but again have lost their original silvering to the stippled finish. There are no maker marks that I can see, which is not uncommon for this type of hanger.

The top suspension bar is the plain-silvered type and it has lost most of the silver finish.

The two straps have good condition silver brocade to the front and dark green velvet backings.

The front shows some wear especially just above the oval buckle on the shorter strap, where it has been stored folded over, probably for over 70 years!

The velvet on the back shows wear and rub marks.

These genuine original straps have seen service and would compliment an Army dagger with similar true service wear.

The longest hanger measures 10” (25.4cm) from the top clip to the tip of the lower clip and they weigh 75g.
