RAF English Pewter Tankard - Commemorating 40th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain

Here on offer is a vintage RAF English Pewter tankard that I believe was issued to commemorate that 40th anniversary of the “Battle of Britain”.

It is inscribed with the famous Churchill quote around the top:

'NEVER IN THE FIELD OF HUMAN CONFLICT WAS SO MUCH OWED BY SO MANY AND TO SO FEW'

and around the bottom:

'Battle of Britain July 10th - Oct 31st 1940'

It is also engraved with the list of all active airfields used during the Battle of Britain.

There also an impressive RAF crest/emblem mounted on the left side of the tankard.

It is in excellent original condition with a lovely age patina to the metal finish. This could be gently polished to a bright finish if the buyer so wishes.

The clear glass bottom is also undamaged and in perfect condition.

Stamped on the base are the makers marks and the words English Pewter.

The Tankard measures 5.25” (13.3cm) high and 4” (10.2cm) diameter at its base.

It weighs 540g.
