Genuine WW2 German Army Dinner Plate that was brought back from the Island of Jersey made by Rhenania Duisdorf Bonn 1939

Here on offer is a genuine early WW2 German Army Dinner Plate that was brought back from the Island of Jersey where I acquired it over 30 years ago.
I purchased it along with some edged weapons for an old gentleman who then ran the Jersey Stamp shop and he stated that the plate was 100% genuine and had come from a local mess hall that had been “liberated” by the locals in 1945 when the Germans left the Island and it was returned to British control.

The thick white chine plate itself is in excellent/near mint condition, no chips or cracks just some light scratches to the surface enamel.

On the base, it has a clear under glaze, German Eagle and makers mark, along with the date 1939.

The maker’s mark is for famous chine and porcelain maker, Rhenania, of Duisdorf Bonn, Germany.

These genuine plates are becoming hard to locate these days especially examples like this near mint example.

It measures 9.2” (23.4cm) diameter and 1.1” (2,8cm) high.

It weighs 685g.
