An Untouched 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger with Original Bullion Portepee by ALCOSO

Here on offer is an untouched 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger with its original silver bullion portepee by ALCOSO.

The Pommel is in excellent condition, retaining some of the original factory darkening and the hand-enhanced oak leaves on the swastikas remain very crisp.

The Grip is a lovely ivory/cream coloured trolon/celluloid type and is complete with a twisted brass wire, which is secure, but slightly loose near the top. The grip is in excellent condition and there are no cracks or splits to the finish.
The ferrule has the finely detailed oak leaf design.

The plated Blade measures 10.25” (26cm) in length and is in very clean condition, no rust or pitting, just bizarrely some scratch marks to all the chamfered flat surfaces? They don’t appear to be sharpening marks as the blade edges are blunt and look to be in original condition. I am sure some or most of these scratches would polish out with a good metal polish.

The leather buffer pad is now missing and you can see where it was originally held in place inside the crossguard.

On the reverse it has an ALCOSO, ‘ACS Scales’ makers trademark with the word SOLINGEN underneath.

The plated metal Scabbard is dent free and in great condition. It has an overall dark patina and the edges and lower faces, show plating loss.
The throat is held in place by a pair of round-headed screws.

It still retains what looks to be its original short Luftwaffe silver thread portepee, which is in excellent condition and is correctly tide around the base of the grip.

The Dagger in the scabbard measures a total of 17” (43.2cm) long and weighs a heavy 385g.
